Alba Rodriguez tells us about herself with a simple Q&A

Q1. Who is Alba?

I am a 30 year old Spanish artist, based in London since February 2019. Art is my
way of life I enjoy it so much. I use art as personal therapy to escape the disasters
of the world and make my reality alive in art.

Q2. Where do you get your inspiration?

Recently I have been concentrating on abstract art, many things that are happening
around me inspire my art which in turn allows my feelings to reach the surface allowing
me to be creative. I just let myself go.

Q3. Did you have any training?

I graduated in Fine Arts in 2018 in Salamanca, Spain. During my Bachelor's degree I also specialised in expressive figurative painting. Prior to that, I undertook a 3 years undergraduate diploma in Art and Sculpture in 2011. During my studies I participated in several sculpture, drawing and painting competitions achieving good results such as an honourable mention in a drawing competition in 2015 and first place in a sculpture competition in 2014.

Q4. How would you describe your art?

At the present time I am focusing on the sentimentality of my paintings, and using many colours in the process.

Brushstrokes I use in every way, some inspired by feelings of rage and others inspired by delicate emotions.

This is why I would say that my work is inspired by my feelings into a burst of colours.

Q5. What artists inspire you?

There are many artists who have inspired me throughout all the years, to name a few inspirations such as Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne and Turner.

Q6. What does Sentiment mean to you?

When I was asked to participate in the Sentiment Collection, I absolutely love the concept, to be part of a union of artists of different styles that form one is an incredible honour as an Artist.

For me a sentiment piece of art is as special as its name as my art is emotion and sentiment inspired.
