Gnasher
Gnasher tells us about himself with a simple Q&A
Q1. Who is Gnasher?
I started graffiti back in the late 80s, I then stopped for unseen reasons in 93 ...
In 2009 I started painting again , I started painting characters but didn’t know
what to sign as ... seeing as I’m a failed DJ , I used my DJ name , Gnasher ...
I didn’t think I’d still be going it years later . I now paint murals for a living!
Q2. Where do you get your inspiration?
I get my inspiration from films and tv mainly ... I love the geeky stuff , but ever since
childhood and thanks to David Attenborough I love animals.
Q3. Did you have any formal training?
I was always pretty good at art , in school it kept me out of trouble and after school into trouble ..., I have no practice with a spray can, but just trail and error.
Q4. How would you describe your art?
I guess it’s described as photorealistic... it’s not street art or graffiti ... just art.
Q5. What artists inspire you?
Growing up it was Michelangelo, constable , but I find so many artists out there on a daily basis ... I would like to say I get inspiration but I get overwhelmed with so many better artists out there than me.
Q6. What does Sentiment mean to you?
I guess my sentiment has changed in these recent times , but I’ve decided if I ever get a chance I’m going to paint some humour.
