My passion for creativity has never been stronger having grown as an artist
throughout my life. I take inspiration from my love of colour and shape, then
combining these with form and line observed from the land that surrounds me.
My images are stripped down to the basics. Never without my sketch book or
camera I make small studies and notes of my experiences whilst travelling, then
in my studio transfer these recordings to canvas.
After a lifetime of creativity my professional portfolio spans the past 17 years. In 2012
I was lucky enough to open my own gallery in Penryn, Cornwall. With the space
doubling up as my studio this has given me the ideal surroundings and wonderful
north facing light to immerse myself in the painting process.
My work is collected internationally and I regularly exhibit in Galleries such as
Tresco - Isles of Scilly, Fowey River Gallery - Fowey, The Atrium Gallery (formerly the Lander Gallery) Truro, D Contemporary - Mayfair, and France, Ireland and America.
Amongst other places, the Isles of Scilly never fails to Inspire me. The constant change in the mood of the Isles provides an ever-evolving palette of colours for me to work with. I can look at the same view over and over again yet I will always find new inspiration. There is no other place i'd rather be.
This is what I want to convey to the viewer, a wonderful feeling of piece warmth and sun.
'Finding our way, Marrakesh'
This stunning painting is from Tom's gallery. In collaboration, a hi-res image was created and we printed it on to canvas and divided it into 1000 pieces allowing friends, family and fellow art lovers to connect through this unique collection in the medium of art.
Each piece is mounted on a 24-carat gold leaf base with a thread of gold running through each piece making a connection to each piece and the artist and in turn all the artists in the Sentiment collection.
Framed in a black wooden box signed and numbered ready to be shared and collected.
