Alessia tells us about herself with a simple Q&A
Q1 Who is Alessia?
I'm the one who wanted to completely turn my life around.
I graduated from the far Eastern Federal University where I received a higher legal education. I made a significant career as a lawyer, however painting has always been an important part of my life. By nature of my profession I had the opportunity to observe different manifestations of human emotions and interactions. As a result at some point I reconsidered my attitude towards the system of social interactions and the place of a human being in the big world. I realised that I cannot combine a formalised legal approach to a person and a broad vision of the world by an artist.
I made an important decision to leave the system in order to devote myself fully to art. So I am currently a full time Artist.
Q2 Where do you get your inspiration?
I draw inspiration from everything I see around me. I perceive the world as brilliant and bright, filled with fantastic colours, great shapes and magnificent textures which interact with each other magically. I intend to convey all this splendour of the surrounding world in my works.
Q3 Did you have any training?
I am self taught.
Q4 How would you describe your art?
The main idea of my painting is the emphasis on contrasts, shape and it's absence, bright colours and monochrome, gloss and matt, metal and softness. The techniques I use allow me to get the result which reflects my vision of the world as a mystical, beautiful and inspiring place for each of us.
Q5 What artists inspire you?
The sun and the moon that create light and shadows. Clouds that create patterns in the sky, mountains that create textures and our whole planet that creates beauty.
Q6 What does Sentiment mean to you?
For me Sentiment is a symbol of the coming time. When the significance of each part of the whole is equal to the significance of the whole as the importance of the human being should be the same as the importance of society as a whole.
