Dan tells us about himself with a simple Q&A

Q1 Who is Dan Digby?

I am Dan Digby, a comic artist/cartoonist from London, now living on the Isle of Wight.

Q2 Where do you get your inspiration?

I find my inspiration from anything and everything that can inspire a cool character. I have developed cartoon characters from animals, insects, aliens, coffee shops, ghosts and much more.

Q3 Did you have any formal training?

I studied art at GCSE level but for the most part I am self taught, learning from watching cartoon, reading comics and spending every hour of free time I could drawing and designing as a kid into adulthood.

Q4 How would you describe your style?

I would describe my art as western comic art. Having learned from drawing Marvel and DC superheroes, my style falls in line with that style.

Q5 What artists inspire you?

My biggest inspiration for my art is Jim Lee. His work on the X-Men in the 90s was what got me hooked on comics and his later/more recent work on Batman is the best comic art I have ever seen.

I also love the work of Greg Capullo, David Finch, Karl Kopinski and Todd McFarlane.

Q6 What does Sentiment mean to you?

Sentiment, to me, is an emotion or feeling towards something, something personal. Something that you love and you're passionate about.
